Founded in the mid-aughts, Language of Stone’s objective is sacrosanct: to support and promote organic musicianship.

The Language of Stone identity is rooted in folk. Not necessarily folk music, but the music of folk. Honest expressions by musicians who make unified records meant to be listened to with intent and with limited distraction. “As analog as possible” is the coin of the realm.

Phase two finds the label inhabiting a much changed world, but the label objective remains unchanged and ever more vital. We believe that each of our releases is akin to a standing stone, an object of meaning intended to be contemplated and, hopefully, revered over the course of time.
